Description: My beautiful collection of vintage Campfire Girls wooden honor beads plus one faux "gold" tone charm. I earned these as a child in the late 1960's to early 1970's. Wonderful memories - so much fun! I'm not sure how I earned the charm - I think it was for fundraising through Campfire Girls chocolate candy sales. Great for crafts. You can sew the beads onto felt vests, dresses, jackets, skirts, or string them into necklaces. Or just design patterns on a flat surface, then re-configure them into new patterns! As I recall, in the late 1960's - early 1970's, each honor bead color was earned based on accomplishments in the following crafts:Home Craft - flame orange beads - fire is the center of the home; 6 Big Honor Beads, 70 Regular Honor BeadsHealth Craft - red beads - to symbolize blood: 1 Big Honor Bead, 18 Regular Honor BeadsNature Lore - blue beads - the color of the sky: 1 Big Honor Bead, 19 Regular Honor BeadsCamp Craft - brown beads - the woods: 1 Big Honor Bead, 15 Regular Honor BeadsHand Craft - green beads - for growing plants and creation: 2 Big Honor Beads, 29 Regular Honor BeadsBusiness - yellow beads - earning "gold": 3 Big Honor Beads, 31 Regular Honor BeadsPatriotism - red, white, and blue beads - the colors of our Flag: 2 Big Honor Beads, 26 Regular Honor Beads The charm has some surface scuffs. Some of the wooden beads have imperfections or scuffs. The second photo of each color group shows the beads that I noticed that had imperfections based on my opinion. Wooden beads tend to have little variations, unlike "perfect" plastic beads from a factory mold. Please zoom in on photos. Please ask if you have any questions.
