Impressed naming to : 425519 Cpl. G. Anderson 47-Can. Inf. George Anderson was born in Forfarshire, Scotland in November 1888. He attested 15th Sept. 1915 and served during the Great War with the 47th Battalion, Canadian Infantry on the Western Front, and according to CEF Burial Registers - ‘”Died of Wounds” - During the attack on DROCOURT QUEANT LINE on September 2nd 1918, Corporal Anderson was severely wounded by enemy shell fire. He was evacuated to No. 7 Casualty Clearing Station where he died from the effects of his wounds the following day.’ Corporal Anderson is buried in the Ligny-St. Flochel British Cemetery, Averdoingt, France.
