In overall good condition Aquatint Philippe de Champaigne is a French painter and engraver of Brabant 1 origin from the 17th century , having made himself known in Paris by painting great monuments such as the Sorbonne , or the Val-de-Grâce . Born May 26, 1602 in Brussels and died August 12, 1674 in Paris , he often worked in partnership with other great artists of his time such as Jacques Lemercier or François Mansart . In cooperation with the painter Nicolas Poussin , he produced the paintings for the Luxembourg Palace . He is inspired by religious subjects, but also produces portraits of personalities who are ready to pay dearly for it.
