Text in Latin. Folio. [46], 542, CXXIIpp. ; viii, 44pp., (with additional mid-19th Century letterpress sheets interleaved throughout the text, and tipped-in at the rear). Letterpress text and music printed in red and black, illustrated with engraved title vignettes, woodcut initials, headpieces and vignettes, and full-page copperplate engravings. In the original full leather with metal edging plates and clasps (lacking latches). The leather spine back is torn and peeling away, nine leaves of the printed music have an early laid paper repair along the outer margin (and with small leather tabs attached), else a good sound copy with some overall moderate soiling and mustiness. An elaborately printed copy of the Roman Missal, with an additional liturgy bound in at the rear for the celebration of the Franciscan Mass for Capuchin nuns professing the Rule of St. Clare (printed by Andream Stadler in 1777, with a fine engraved title vignette of St. Francis of Assisi receiving the Stigmata). Tipped-in at the rear is a four page "Appendix ad Missas proprias Ordinis" [printed on laid paper, circa 1800], and a twelve page "Missæ Festorum Dioecesis Fuldensis Propriorum" (printed at Ratisbonae in 1859 by Ex Typographica Friderici Pustet). Interleaved throughout the entire Missal are various mid-19th Century letterpress sheets, serving as a calendar of rites and prayers: "Feria Sexta" (Good Friday), Dominican Quadragesimae (prayers), etc. A unique copy likely owned and used by many devoted Capuchin nuns from central Europe.
