Description: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Available for sale is a 2 CD set containing 2002 transfers of the four (4) abridged Gilbert & Sullivan Comic Operas that were issued on the HMV label (the Gramophone Company, Ltd.) in 1931 and 1933. The titles are Yoemen of the Guard, The Gondoliers, The Pirates of Penzance and The Sorcerer. The casts include singers who performed these operas with the D’Oyly Carte Opera Company. These recordings were made under the supervision of Rupert D’Oyly Carte and were produced using electric recording technology. The transfers by J. C. Lockwood/78s2CD were made from exceptionally fine sets of records that came from private collections in both in the UK and the U.S. As a result, the sound quality of the transfer is unsurpassed. Included is a booklet of liner notes. This 2-CD set comes from a non-smoking household and is in very excellent condition.
