DeMille. CECIL B. DeMILLE, Actor MARY PICKFORD, Actress Yes, THAT Cecil B. DeMilleBefore he became the greatest director of all time, he was a stage actor in a handful of plays. This was Mary Pickford’s BROADWAY DEBUT! This was her very first Broadway play. She went on to be one of the biggest stars to ever live. • Cecil B. DeMille played the character Arthur Warren.• Mary Pickford played his younger sister, Betty Warren.• This play was performed in two theaters for a total of 380 performances.• Play was written by Cecil’s older brother, William. This incredibly rare cabinet card belonged to Martha Waldron (daughter of Clarence W. Barron), who was a prominent stage actress from approximately 1901-1911. She appeared in many plays in New York, San Francisco, Boston, London and more. Tragically she passed away from a brain tumor in 1916.
