Description: Acid etched Celtic knotsdangle earrings. My late friend Robert Irving & I made these in the 1990's. Features:* Hypoallergenic stainless steel French hooks*Measures 1 1/4" by 1 1/4" (34mm)* Lightweight 8 grams For anyone that is interested here are the basics of how I made them:1) I Took a picture of different designs that I could fit into about a 1 foot square area2) Made a physical negative of that picture3) Transferred the negative onto a silk screen4) silk screened "resist" onto the parts of the metal that I wanted to protect from the etching process5) Put the sheet of metal into my homemade acid etching machine6) Once the etching process was finished I removed the resist from the metal and cut out my designs with a pair of metal shears.7) Ground down the sharp edges with a grinding wheel and then buffed them up with a polishing wheel.8) Finished the piece by putting on the pin backs, ear wire, barrettes etc...Please note that as they are hand made no two pieces are exactly identical.Any questions please feel free to ask.
