Measurements: 25.25" x 19.25" x 1" Biography Cesar Buenaventura is one of the most prolific and well known of Filipino painters. His impressionistic landscapes, glorious sunsets and classical mastery adorned the homes and walls of prominent Filipino families of old. His works were known to have been bought wet from the easel. Cesar Buenaventura was born in Tondo, Manila in 1922. He was the youngest son of Teodoro Buenaventura. His father was a distinguished UP professor. His brother Teddy Junior was also an artist but unlike him, who had taken studies in art at UP, Cesar did not learn art in a formal setting. His father did not encourage the idea of competition between his two sons and so it was that Cesar did not go to art school. It was only after his father retired when Cesar finally received formal instruction from his father. As it turned out, Cesar surpassed the skill and fame of both father and brother. Cesar was known to be a very generous person and his gallery at A. Mabini was a watering hole in fact for many artists of his time. His masterpieces became the crowning glory of the place, bringing to it excitement and vigo
