A cartoonist who, for thirty years, did The Lone Ranger comic strip for King Features, Charles Flanders began his career as a commercial artist in Buffalo, New York. In 1928, when he was age 21, he went to New York City and took a job as an art director for Macfadden magazines. Several years later, he signed with King Features Syndicate. Among his comics were King of the Royal Mounted, Tim Tyler's Luck, Bringing Up Father, Sandra of the Secret Service, Treasure Island, and Robin Hood, and with some of them, including The Lone Ranger, he emulated the style of Alex Raymond. Both The Lone Ranger and Flanders were retired in 1971. Shipping & Handling $15.00 USPS Priority Mail®
