In 1893, Olcott replaced William J. Scanlan as the leading tenor in sentimental operettas on Irish themes produced by Augustus Pitou. Olcott wrote the complete scores for musicals such as Sweet Inniscara (1897), A Romance of Athlone (1899), Garrett O'Magh (1901), and Old Limerick Town (1902); and wrote numerous scores in collaborations with Ernest R. Ball and George Graff. Some of his more popular numbers included, "My Wild Irish Rose" from A Romance of Athlone, "Mother Machree" from Barry of Ballymore, and "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling" from The Isle o' Dreams. Olcott was also known to perform some of his stage acts with his St. Bernard. Condition: Bubbling along the top of the photograph, light wear and soiling. Mount is a little wavy. See pictures.
