Description: This little bowl stood out to us because it is happy in design and coloration. Muted reds and blue, in spongeware and freeform design on white, appear on the inside; the outside is banded in similar tones. Unusual with its frilly border, research indicates it resembles the work of Susan Leader, a potter from Vermont, but we could not i.d. the signature. We thought, because of the "L" (unless we are reading it wrong), it might have been crafted by a relative. The item is 6 1/4" wide, 2 1/8" tall, and sits on a 3 1/4" base. It weighs 14 oz. before packing. The red clay bottom is in keeping with Leader's medium. Also looks a bit like Fioriware, but the mark doesn't match.
