I take excellent care of my books in my smoke-free environment, but this already had condition problems when I bought it. Notes on condition: dust jacket: none, as issued binding: tan cloth-over-board, with gold stamped decoration and lettering on front board and spine, and paste-down color cameo on front board, shows overall dirt and wear; slight rubbing top and bottom of spine and outside corners; ink stain at bottom edge of back board interior pages: mostly clean, with small ink stains and faint staining along bottom edge of pages through page 9, faint to light staining at top and right edge of some pages, and occasional small, light stains otherwise; light discoloration from aging; separation at gutter between pages 18 and 19, 88 and 89, but all pages secure; moderate soiling with adhesive residue to end papers; all seven full-page, black-and-white plates intact Please see photos to get a sense of the condition and amusing illustrations.
