Description: Dimensions: W: 14cm (5.5")H: 11cm (4.3") This Chinese bronze censer reflects the enduring influence of Xuande-era, with its robust tripod form and bulbous body supported by three slightly splayed legs. Two upward-curving looped handles add balance and grandeur to its shape. The surface displays a smooth, dark patina, with evidence of surface oxidation and small patches of verdigris visible throughout. Likely dating to the 19th century, the censer bears a neatly cast six-character Xuande reign mark on the base, paying homage to the Ming emperor celebrated for elevating bronze craftsmanship. The gilt has worn over time, consistent with its age and use. This is a beautiful and faithful emulation of Xuande bronze work by craftsmen of the late Qing era.
