Description: Chip Breaker Screwdriver for Stanley Planes (and many others) in Brazilian Rosewood by Corinth Toolworks. I am excited to announce that we are now working with Corinth Toolworks to offer Dave’s Chip Breaker Screwdrivers in Brazilian Rosewood. These are made from old repurposed Stanley Plane Knobs so please expect some dents and dings. We also offer kits if you want to make your own: https://www.ebay.com/itm/226396654250 When I saw Dave Corinth build his Chip Breaker Screwdriver on YouTube, I could not wait to build one. The first one took the better part of a day. Cutting and milling the O1 tool steel blade, turning the brass ferrule to the proper dimensions, building a jig to machine the 5/8” dowel to the right diameter to fit perfectly inside the brass ferrule, building another jig to cut the blade slot in the exact center of the dowel, drill a 5/8” hole in an old broken down knob and secure the parts with marine epoxy and now, I have a wonderful Chip Breaker Screwdriver that I use every day. If you work on vintage planes, this is a must-have tool Dave Corinth on YouTube, Making a Chip Breaker Screwdriver: https://youtu.be/hdyZ9hNGfMY M-WTCA members will receive a 10% discount rebate.
