Description: CHRISTMAS Set 5 Antique Postcards. Publisher IAP / E. Clapsaddle. Series # 11 and #12. Collector Items. 1900s. Good Value and Condition. This is a nice selection of 5 CHRISTMAS POSTCARDS showing HOLLY, BELLS, RIBBONS, and other Christmas decor. The postcards are colorful and attractive. These postcards were published by the International Arts Publishing, Co. (IAP), who published during 1895-1915. One of their most famous artists was Ellen Clapsaddle. These were drawn by her, but they are unsigned. She is a sought after artist by collectors. These postcards are part of the IAP Series # 11 and #12. The postcards show bells with pink and blue ribbon, as well as mistletoe and holly. These postcards have a strong GOLD TRIM either on the top or on the side. These are all nicely drawn. They have "TO... and FROM..." on the front. These postcards are ANTIQUE from the early 1900s. Overall, a nice selection of antique Christmas and E. Clapsaddle postcards! These are collector items because of their age and desirability. The postcards are both UNPOSTED (3) and POSTED (2); one has the stamp removed. The postcards were published in the 1905-1906 era. The backs are UNDIVIDED backs, and they have "Authorized by Act of Congress ..." on them. The postcards are EMBOSSED, "PRINTED IN GERMANY", and have GOLD TRIM. Postcards with UNDIVIDED BACKS were used from 1901-1907. An undivided back is a good indicator of the age of the postcard and its historical significance. During this time period, ONLY THE ADDRESS could be put on the back, and any written message had to be done on the front of the postcard. These type of postcards are collector items because of their age, and because of the limited number of such postcards in existence today. Also, collectors like to own postcards that were published in the beginning years of the postcard hobby. These are BETTER POSTCARD and good for a collector. The postcards will keep their value! They are sleeved and in good condition. However, please expect some creases, cuts, stains and edge wear due to their age. The photos show the postcards and the backs. The postcards are shipped in a sturdy envelope. We only ship within the USA; we do not ship internationally. USA shipping is with tracking, and we use eBay Standard Envelope mail when the value is under $20 and the weight is under 3 oz; and, we use USPS First Class mail when the value is over $20 or the weight is over 3 oz. We combine shipping whenever possible. If you purchase multiple lots, you can wait and we will send you an invoice for the combined shipping before you pay. In case you have already paid for the lots, we will still combine the shipment and refund you any extra shipping charges back to your account.
