The checkerboard faceted stone is a deep reddish-brown garnet color. The crown setting is flanked by two fleur-de-lis and is marked .925 sterling silver. The underside of the band has a hairline crack in the metal that could easily be resized and fixed by a silversmith. The spots on the bottom of the stone are from a previously foiled underside which has mostly been removed over time. The spots are the remaining foil.
