His famed band, Los Hermanos Pinzone's, were quite accomplished musicians and vocalist Ascension became famous for his controversial style of "doble sentido:" amusing songs featured spicy lyrics full of double meaning. The group became extremely popular among the population of Cuban immigrants living in Miami at the time, the band providing a link to the sentiments of their homeland.
