Description: SOCIAL STUDIES FOR GREEK SPEAKING NEWCOMERS IN ELEMENTARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOLS. GREEK LANGUAGE book meant to teach newly arrived Greek Immigrants the basics of the U.S. and Chicago Government, Laws, Rules, Society and Customs. Produced by the Board of Education, City of Chicago, Joseph P. Hannon, General Superintendent of Schools, 1977. The title page states "Working Draft". I have never seen another copy, so perhaps this book was never actually published for distribution. VERY GOOD condition, there is a dime size stain to the upper spine corner of the front cover, and light wear to the spine ends and corner tips; internally, there is a signature on the title page, otherwise bright, clean, clear and unmarked. An interesting item relating to attempts to INTEGRATE GREEK IMMIGRANT CHILDREN into CHICAGO.
