Description: This Artillery Hammer is 2-piece hand forged iron was previously in the collection of Dr. Francis Lord, author of 4 volumes of "Civil War Encyclopedias". Old handwritten hang tag reads C. S. Artillery Camp/Guilford County. N.C. It was ground recovered in an area of Guilford County, North Carolina at a site known to have been a Confederate Artillery encampment. Hammer measures approximately 9" long and 4 1/2" wide. Photos show condition.
