Description: Civil War Cannister Cannon Ball from Gettysburg 1963. According to the size of the can, a dozen or two of these balls were securely placed inside then fired out of a larger bore cannon. Just like a shotgun shell, when fired the balls would scatter like pellets which I would think was rather effective. Made out of steel and measures approximately 1 1/4" in diameter with the rusty coating. Please view pictures for quality and condition.
