Description: Congratulations!! You are viewing a wonderful 1860's civil war period ladies' work dress. This dress is a size 10 and fits the lovely lady with Bust 32 and Waist 25. There is some wiggle room (1-4") in the bodice of these patterns. If you need assistance determining your size, please feel free to send us an email through EBay or to TheColonelsLady at AOL. As period sizing is different than today's sizing, we want to be sure you get the right size the first time! If we don't have the color / style or size you need, we do special orders! This dress is made from a period pattern - photo copies of the originals. This dress is made from a top quality 100% cotton and the bodice is fully lined (not the sleeves)so no raw seams are showing (except arm holes). A fully lined bodice gives the dress an extraordinary strength and a much better look - and it should wear like iron. The second layer of fabric is not hotter in the summer, actually, it will get the perspiration away from the body and it will not show as much from the outside of the garment. The liner also serves well as winter insulation. We've also placed additional buttons down the front of this dress to help eliminate those "gaps" between buttons. The sleeves are gathered as is the skirt. This dress can be hemmed to approx 49" from the waist. This dress has a extra fullness and a bottom sweep of 135” and works well with either the 3 or 4 bone hoop. Please be sure to check out our other items.
