Description: Being offered is a clamp kit for anchoring the base of a cantilever or offset deck umbrella to the wood planks of the deck. You may choose a four-clamp kit if you are looking for economy and faster installation or an eight-clamp kit for a better anchor if you are a belt and suspenders person like me. The four-clamp kit includes four 2" shiny metal C-shaped rigid clamps, eight 5/16" x 2" hex bolts, eight 5/16" hex nuts and eight 5/16" flat washers. The quantities are doubled in the eight-clamp kit. This kit works with an umbrella base having arms with dimensions approximating and NO GREATER THAN the dimensions shown in the last photo. You simply drill holes in the deck planks, locate the clamps and secure them with the included fasteners. The fasteners work with planks that are 1-1/4" or less in thickness. In my opinion, these clamps provide far better anchoring than base weights and are far less expensive. In the off-season, I simply remove my umbrella from the base, cover the base with plastic and leave it attached to my deck. If you do not have access to the lower side of your deck, you may wish to consider the lag screw type kit I have in another listing. That kit enables relatively quick installation without going below the deck but may not hold as well under extremely high winds as the nut-and-bolt fastening scheme of the kit of this listing.
