Each slab features naturally occurring live edges, knots, checks, cracks, pest marks, and inclusions, adding to the character of this urban-sourced slab. Every slab has a video and several photos of the actual slab listed - nothing is better than seeing the piece in person, but with the videos and pictures, it’s the next best thing. These slabs are air-dried over 3-6 years and then kiln heat-treated for sterilization. When the slab is noted as surfaced, a slab has been surfaced on both sides to approximately 80%, presenting a near-ready canvas while preserving enough thickness to address any minor imperfections such as surfacer marks, or slight bows or cups that may occur during storage and or transport. In some pictures, the grain may have a light water or mineral spirit misting to highlight the grain and give an example of what the piece will look like when finished.
