COLEMAN MODEL 200 SINGLE MANTLE LANTERN MADE IN USA IN DECEMBER OF 1950 RESTORED

Description: Welcome to a Happy-Campers2’s First Sale of the New Year! Up for sale, and your consideration, is this Coleman Model 200 Single Mantle Lantern! NOTE: Please read all of the text in the description! When The Coleman Company ceased production of the Model 242 series of lanterns, they began production of the Model 200. The Model 200 ran from October of 1950 to April of 1951, a very short period. The first 200s were made with brass fuel tanks (founts) that were nickel plated. The 200 in this sale was made in December of 1950. This 200 is in excellent condition. The nickel on the fount is in very good condition with very few blemishes. The vent does have some minor chips in the porcelain enamel. The original burner frame was in pretty bad condition and has been replaced with an era correct looking reproduction burner frame. The lantern does retain it's original, although very faint, green letter rising sun Coleman Pyrex globe. This lantern has been disassembled and all parts cleaned or replaced as needed. Upon reassembly, it received a new fuel cap gasket. The pump leather has been oiled. The lantern has been fueled. This 200 pumps up and hold pressure. When the valve wheel is opened, there is the familiar hiss and gurgle of a working lantern. The U.S.A. made Model 200 lanterns are pretty rare having only been made for six months. Lanterns are disassembled of globe, vent and bail handle. The globe is bubble wrapped and then placed in a coffee can or separate carton before being placed in the shipping carton. All other pieces are bubble wrapped and all voids are packed with suitable light weight material so that all parts are immobilized inside the shipping carton. Fuel will be emptied from all lanterns & stove before shipping! SHIPPING: PLEASE NOTE! Due to items being damaged with combined shipping, we will combine only TWO won items per shipping carton!! We use UPS Ground or USPS for the majority of our domestic shipping. International shipping is via Priority Mail International or, if less expensive, we may ship via UPS. Of course, if your item is within First Class weight limitations, we will ship First Class Mail. We will combine shipping when possible, but no more than two won items per carton!
