Description: THE DENVER NORTHWESTERN BAR Sam Peterson, proprietor Location:KREMMLING, GRAND COUNTY,COLORADO Date: 1908 - 1909 Sam Peterson was born in Tunsta, Norway,in 1874; arrived in the United States in 1891.In 1895, Peterson was in Cripple Creek,Colorado; married Anna Johnson in 1899.After Cripple Creek, Peterson moved toSteamboat Springs, and then to Kremmling,Colorado. Most of these years he participatedin the saloon business. The two original photographs in this lot were takensomewhere in 1908-1909. In 1910, Peterson movedto Thermopolis, Wyoming, after selling theDenver Northwestern Bar. In Thermopolis,Peterson opened the Blue Front Saloon. Condition: very good plus to near fine; both original photographs have excellent tones, contrasts & details; original mounts are generaly in very good plus to near fine condition; interior image has small chip in left-hand margin.
