Description: Here we have a CD compilation of ugly sounds and dangerous ideas, taken from several impossibly rare early Eighties records involving the dark talents of Whitehouse frontman William Bennett: Anthology 2: Come Organization Archives 1981-1982, a UK import made briefly available in 2001 on Bennett's own Susan Lawly label, now very much out of print. This is intense, noisy electronic-based music, featuring some very crucial artists from the post-punk experimental scene who would go on to achieve much greater fame (and notoriety). The nine featured tracks hail from three extremely rare albums. Here's what you get. 1) Two lengthy tracks by Come, a Whitehouse side project of William Bennett and Jim "Foetus" Thirlwell. These pieces make up the entirety of Come's impossibly rare 1981 album I'm Jack, described by Bennett as his attempt to create "music which could leave listeners feeling almost suicidal." 2) Two long tracks from Liebstandarte SS MB, an early project of Italian noisemeister Maurizio Bianchi, best known for a series of stunning LPs released under the name MB before giving up power electronics to become a Jehovah's Witness. 3) Five tracks ("the highlights") from the Bennett-curated compilation Fur Ilse Koch, performed by Nurse with Wound, Musique Concret, Consumer Electronics (featuring future Whitehouse and Ramleh member Philip Best), and Etat Brut. This is extremely dark, high intensity audio, much of which plays around with some very unsavory ideas -- not for the timid or squeamish. Selected artwork from the original albums and excellent notes from William Bennett and Nigel Stevenson complete the package. None of this material is currently available in any format. This CD is in pristine shape. Track list Come: By God's Very Own Fuck (15:11) Musique Concret: Exit (1:23) Nurse With Wound: Fashioned To A Device Behind A Tree (7:38) Consumer Electronics: Lebensraum (5:50) Etat Brut: Necro (3:52) Come: President, Your Prick's Stiff (14:58) Leibstandarte SS MB: Endoradiation (11:55) Leibstandarte SS MB: SS20 Attack (12:10) Leibstandarte SS MB: Plutoniumetrio (4:19) ***** More fevered aural nightmares exhumed from the archives of William Bennett's mysterious Come Organisation, including Come's 1981 album I'm Jack, two 15-minute tracks of rumbling, suffocating weirdness by Bennett and Jim 'Foetus' Thirlwell that might appeal to any who appreciate the minimalist doomscapes of Boris and Sunn O))), though this is far more sinister and jarring. Also featured is a whirlwind of sheer stereophonic terror by Nurse With Wound entitled 'Fashioned To A Device Behind A Tree', and Philip Best in his pre-Whitehouse days as Consumer Electronics, performing a suitably horrendous noise attack that is actually more aggressive than the early Whitehouse recordings. The closing three tracks by Leibstandarte SSMB are also extraordinary , especially the cold-as-death 'SS20 Attack', a petrifying concoction of electronic sounds which conducts an atomosphere of impending doom far more effectively than any sub-genre of heavy metal ever could. These tracks still retain maximum impact 20 years after their creation. In fact, it's fair to say nobody has since equalled the unflinching exploration of extremity and disturbance and the sheer experimental and transgressive drive to be found here. ~ Chris Chantler
