Description: The Making of a City: Welcome to the Vicksburg Riverfront Murals. "In October 2001, the Riverfront Mural Committee was formed to bring historical murals to Yazoo Diversion Canal floodwall in downtown Vicksburg. The vision was to see a timeline of the history of Vicksburg painted on the expansive canvas of the concrete floodwall. We believed that these murals could be used, not only as an educational tool for teaching local children and adults, as well as visitors, about our community's history, but also to beautify the area with outdoor art." (Nellie Caldwell, Chairman) The murals were sponsored by the City of Vicksburg. The commemorative book includes all 32 Riverfront Murals in full color, with each mural on its own page along with a description.The book is a 33 page (pages not numbered) hardback. No ISBN. The front cover has a cut-out window to show the mural on the title page. It is in pristine condition inside and out except for a few scratches on the back cover and 2 indentations/slight tears in the cover along the bottom edge (see pics). All pages are clean with no tears, no writing (except the inscription at the front) and no highlighting. I believe this commemorative book of the Riverfront Murals was only orderable for a limited time and is no longer able to be purchased from the Riverfront Mural website. I have not found it available for purchase in any other place.
