I am conservatively describing the books as in GOOD TO BETTER CONDITION (although most would say “Very Good”). Although the covers show slight discoloration and scuffing from being shelved and stored, the inside pages are Like New, showing no apparent writing or other marks. The only very minor flaw is that the inside cover of Volume 1 has yellow discolorations (as if a piece of paper had been glued and then removed). According to an editor’s comment, “CHILDCRAFT’S 5,040 pages are intended to be 5,040 doors to a child’s life and learning to come.” The books’ contents were selected according to known curiosities and interests of young children. Teachers know that the more interesting a topic is, the more it can be a stimulus to learning. A sample of topics includes Stories and Fables; Holidays and Customs; How Things Work; Places to Know; and many more. Whereas these books are over fifty years old, most of the subject matter remains relevant for today’s young people.Whereas single volumes and whole sets are available online with a wide range of prices, I doubt you will find another complete set of all 15 volumes in equal or better condition for a lower price! (The shipping cost reflects the heavy weight of these high-quality hardback books.)
