These gloves offer protection from swelling after an injury, after carpal tunnel surgery, nerve damage, or anytime you need stabilization of your hand. These gloves have the seams on the OUTSIDE, away from any injury and will not rub against it. They can be washed and dried normally, but will last longer if hand-washed. I have a severed median nerve on my left hand and I wear a glove everyday. It has helped tremendously with the nerve pain, as it compresses my hand and reduces the swelling that causes the nerve to become irritated and "burn."
