Description: Here is a real survivor. A crepe paper Thanksgiving Menu from the Base Headquarters & 15th Air Base Squadron, Albrook Field, Canal Zone November 23, 1939. Albrook Air Force Station is a former USAF facility in Panama. It was located on the east side of the Panama Canal just south of Fort Clayton and north of the township of Balboa, Panama. Albrook Field, opened in 1932 due to France Field becoming too small for the numbers of aircraft being assigned to the Canal Zone, as well as having a poor landing surface; offering no room for expansion, and providing little defense for the Pacific entrance to the Panama Canal. The commander was Major Rex K Stoner. The menu is 13 ½” x 13 ½” and has a colorful Thanksgiving theme and a small airplane in the sky above. This has been folded, but has no tears. Just a few small edge chips. Scarce for sure!
