Description: Gorgeous Antique Customized Axe Hatchet A rare find with New England handle I rehung, custom black walnut cross wedges in the eye Restoration: I rehung this on the handle which was loose, custom black walnut wedges cross pattern installed. The head & wedges were all epoxied in place Restored finish on handle with many coats of hand buffed laquer, I left the beautiful patina(left some nicks in wood)yet still preserving the beautiful wood The pictures don’t do it justice but the cartridge casings I inlaid then covered in clear epoxy, the epoxy looks amazing over the casings, in person you will see what I mean I cleaned the head & but did not put an edge back on it, if you want a razor sharp edge you will need to dress it some more, I intend this as a wall hanger but it certainly can be used as a working tool, it’s rock solid now!
