The top of the two layers pulls out. Once you pull out the top layer, you lay whatever firearm/accessory you want to go inside the case on top of it, and you trace it out. Once traced, you simply take a very sharp knife(razor-blade recommended) and cut out the exact shape you want. Then you re-place the foam inside the bottom of the case and you have a custom fit case for your firearm.
