McCall was the nom de plume of graphic artist Billy Dale Fries who, along with Chip Davis (of Mannheim Steamroller) fame made a smash hit out of CONVOY. C.W. McCall started as a character in a string of commercials for Old Home Bread, which also came into play in the song The Old Home Fill ’Er Up & Keep On A Truckin’ Cafe.
