Description: Get free shipping for your entire order when you buy 3 or more shells at the same time. Cypraea Talpa #1 57.8mm, Linnaeus 1758, EXQUISITE CORDED BEAUTY from the Philippines. This shell was found on a night dive in 45 feet of water, Olango Island, the Philippines, 2019. There is something about the Philippines that just causes a shell collector's eyes to glow with wonder and envy---I mean, when you read about the great shells found there, it reminds me of Fort Kam reef on Oahu, a wonderful place that everyone else got to go collecting at, but not me! Ah, the folly of what might have been! . The closest I ever came to finding a talpa cowrie myself, rather rare in Hawaii, was on a beach in Kapolei, I found a piece of one. When I did, I looked up and out over the water right in front of me and wished I could go night-diving there, but, since I didn't have a dive-buddy at the time and Leanna was a rather unreasonable fanatic about the whole dive-buddy sort of thing, well, having been married long enough to know who was in charge and who wasn't, I knew that jumping into that pitch-black water in the middle of the night all by myself even by accident was just wistful thinking... So I stood there on that beach and did what any other self-respecting shell collector would of done when they had just found a piece of a rare shell on the beach---with a big sigh, I dreamed of what might have been! (I also found pieces of tessellata, sulcidentata, scurra, chinensis, granulata, schilderorum, and even a big piece of a tiger cowrie on that beach... and yep, that's right, you guessed it, the name of that beach was Heartbreak Cove...). Anyhow, as the video shows, this small, heavy for its size, glossy, vivid shell with the corded body is a gorgeous beauty that will look terrific sitting on your shelf! The perfect shell for a first-class collection. As for normal disclaimers, we do the best we can with photos, but color is tricky, especially since cell phone cameras automatically lean towards flesh-tone coloring, (that's why so many of the photos of shells on eBay show up with more orange than is really there, the camera changes the color, and damm if I can figure out how to stop that from happening, but I try, honest! As for feedback, as your know, sellers live and die by the feedback you leaved, (please leave fives!) so if you have a problem, just let me know! After all, I'm retired, and all messages go directly to my phone, so unless I'm out shell collecting I will get back to you pronto-like!Shell collecting! Now there's a phrase that brings smiles to your eyes, doesn't it!Anyhow, if you have read this far, you have my apologies and best wishes from those of us at IslandShells323. And don't forget, Home is where your collection is!
