There is something about the Philippines that just causes a shell collector's eyes to glow with wonder and envy---I mean, when you read about the great shells found there, it reminds me of Fort Kam reef on Oahu, a wonderful place that everyone else got to go collecting at, but not me! Ah, the folly of what might have been! . The closest I ever came to finding a talpa cowrie myself, rather rare in Hawaii, was on a beach in Kapolei, I found a piece of one. When I did, I looked up and out over the water right in front of me and wished I could go night-diving there, but, since I didn't have a dive-buddy at the time and Leanna was a rather unreasonable fanatic about the whole dive-buddy sort of thing, well, having been married long enough to know who was in charge and who wasn't, I knew that jumping into that pitch-black water in the middle of the night all by myself even by accident was just wistful thinking... So I stood there on that beach and did what any other self-respecting shell collector would of done when they had just found a piece of a rare shell on the beach---with a big sigh, I dreamed of what might have been! (I also found pieces of tessellata, sulcidentata, scurra, chinensis, granulata, schilderorum, and even a big piece of a tiger cowrie on that beach... and yep, that's right, you guessed it, the name of that beach was Heartbreak Cove...). Anyhow, as the photos show, even with a bite repair on the top of its dorsum, this gorgeous, glossy, vivid shell with a beauty that will look terrific sitting on your shelf!A great addition to a first-class collection. As for normal disclaimers, we do the best we can with photos, but color is tricky, especially since cell phone cameras automatically lean towards flesh-tone coloring, (that's why so many of the photos of shells on eBay show up with more orange than is really there, the camera changes the color, and damm if I can figure out how to stop that from happening, but I try, honest!As for feedback, as your know, sellers live and die by the feedback you leaved, (please leave fives!) so if you have a problem, just let me know!
