I had the opportunity to purchase a part of this collection and will be listing these cards and photos this week. The following has been written about Leon as other parts of his massive collection has been sold in auction nationally... This rare '70s Bob Dylan autographed index card originates from the estate of Leon Moritz. President and founder of many national and regional collecting clubs since the mid-70s, Mr. Moritz passed away in 2009 at age 88. His collection and methods were well known to collectors - he built his collection essentially in-person, and was quite adept at contacting managers, agents and performers, arranging to meet them at venues in the Cleveland area where they would be appearing. In addition, Moritz was hospitalized regularly throughout the '70s and '80s at the Cleveland Clinic and Jewish Community Hospital. During this period, he received an amazing and well-documented amount of notable visitors as evidenced by the salutations on many of the pieces in his collection. These were mostly musical performers appearing in the Cleveland area. Almost all the autographs are signed to Moritz personally, including this gem signed "to Leon" by Bob Dylan. Dylan is exceptionally RARE in this format. Items include a collection of several hundred autographs received by Cleveland OH theater owner Leon Moritz, including newsmakers, directors, singers, actors and actresses, plus other entertainment celebrities including Liza Minelli, Stanley Kubrick, Louis Malle, Francis Ford Coppolla, Flip Wilson, Harry Blackstone Jr., Rodney Dangerfield, Gene Pitney, Sonny Bono, Carl Perkins, Mel Torme and many more listed… Black and White picture........
