He released himself after Denmark's occupation , now only being "free" envoy for a free Denmark. He was the son of a head hunter , Count Christian Benedict Reventlow (died 1922 ) and wife Sophie F. Schjær (died 1924 ). Married (November 4, 1910) to Else F. Bardenfleth, born January 2, 1884 in Copenhagen, daughter of Chamberlain , Rear Admiral Frederik Bardenfleth and wife Ida Bardenfleth. He became a student from Roskilde Cathedral School 1901 , MSc. 1908 , employed by the Foreign Ministry 1909 , Assistant 1913 , Legation Secretary in London the same year, Legation Secretary for service in the Foreign Ministry 1919 , Head of Department in the same year, Head of Department 1921 , Kst. as director 1922 , director 1923 , sent in Stockholm 1932 , in London 1938 , dismissed 1942 and reappointed 1945 . He was ambassador to London after the war 1947 - 1953, member of the Danish-Swedish, Danish-Czechoslovakian and Dutch-Romanian Standing Conciliation Boards and member of the Permanent Arbitration Court in The Hague . Has written: In Danish Service . He was a Grand Cross in diamonds of the Dannebrog Order , Dannebrogsmand and decorated with numerous foreign orders.
