Darklands is a wargame set in a fantasy world not too different from our own. Beginning in the year AD 650, Darklands will combine various fantastical and historical elements found in northwest Europe in the so-called 'Dark Ages' in a wargame that will be intuitive, fresh and interesting. Much of its setting will be known to fantasy wargamers everywhere, and thus be very easily accessible. It also has the biggest gribblies you'll see in any 30mm wargame! The Ysians are a degenerate, decadent race of Celts occupying what was known by the Romans as Armorica and Dumnonia - Brittany and Cornwall. In our setting, the city of Ker-Ys was built by the Cornish as they fled from the advance of the Saxons, but it has quickly become - under the Queen of Ker-Ys, Euryalia and her Drunes - a despicable place that worships the Horned God Kernunnos and creates all sorts of weird and wonderful creatures to extend their holdings in Frankia and beyond. The fortress of Carn Dinas yields many Kernowek for battle and Morcum is one of them. Bound to the drunes of war when still a youth, toughened through long years of service and slaughter with bow and dagger, his fate is entwined with that of Ker-Ys for he now leads others from his teeming city just as he was himself led. A champion, then, a leader of other drunes, his bow favoured from use and tempered to instinct, Morcum is both teacher and example to the bow-drunes he leads and their direct contact with the powers that drive him.
