Description: I have always wanted a David Kirk bike and, SADLY, I am listing this. It is just too small for me. I was hoping to make this work, but, just too small. It is a very nice condition frameset. A few minor chips, but I will inlcude matching touch up polish that was provided to me. I bought this frameset from a really nice family with the understanding that the owner could no longer ride. I played with it and the corresponding drawing shows it should fit a 54ish rider. I am measuring a center to center top tube of 52-52.5mm. I think if you want a small racy, twitchy feel fast bike then you might call it a 54, if you want a little more daily lunch group ride, I would call it a 52. I was able to ride it with a brief mock up, but it felt very small. I want to be as honest as possible. This is a beautiful condition hand built frameset. The drawing says 54 but.... So nice, but it is a 52 in my opinion! This frame has the early 4 circles David Kirk logo in perfect condition. Rare logo with a good story behind it, if you study the forums. Here is a quote from the original description when I purchased: "It’s a beautiful fillet-brazed steel frame built with Reynolds 725 tubing and when it was built up was 18lbs with pedals. The frame has no dents or imperfections. Some minor paint chips, but perfect color matched nail polish is included. The frame is a David Kirk custom built frameset. It was checked for alignment, frame-savered, new barrel adjusters installed, and all threads chased in 2014. It is frame #9 under the Kirk Frameworks name.Description from David Kirk:This fillet-brazed frameset was built September, 2003 for a rider in Massachusetts and is constructed with Reynolds 725 tubing. The tube diameters are what many would call standard sized meaning that the top tube is 1” and the seat and down tubes are 1 ⅛”. The fork has a 1” threadless steerer and is built with a Cinelli fork crown." Again, sadly, I am listing this, because I still want a David Kirk of my own, now even more after spending time with this frame. Shipping to the lower 48 US states only. I will brace the drop outs to prevent damage and over wrap and over pack as I always do. I want you to get it in just as nice shape as it is now. Thank you!
