Description: This is a rare broadside (single page playbill) from the Broadway revival of William Shakespeare's "THE MERCHANT OF VENICE" at the Lyceum Theatre in New York City. (The revival opened December 21st, 1922 and ran for 92 performances.) ..... The play starred DAVID WARFIELD as "Shylock" and featured MARY SERVOSS as "Portia". Others in the cast included A. E. WEVER, EDWARD CRANDALL, WARDE de WOLFE, NICK LONG, HENRY BROWN, JULIA ADLER and MARY ELLIS (making her Broadway debut) ..... DETAILS: The single page, two-sided program measures 4 3/4" X 11" inches and includes production credits, cast list and synopsis of scenes, but no cast photos or bios ..... CONDITION: (Please Note!) The broadside is brittle, there is some paper loss at the top corners and the bottom right corner, two light horizontal folds with a tear at the bottom fold. Despite these flaws, this rare broadside will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
