Description: Shipping: I ship in Uline S-165 11 1/8 x 8 5⁄8 x 2" Kraft Easy-Fold Mailers with two S-2437 8 1⁄2 x 11" 150 lb Corrugated Pads per comic book. Each comic book will be enclosed in a mylar archival comic book bag with an acid free archival quality backing board then gently secured between the corrugated pads. I ship comics USPS Ground Advantage. The Collection: This comic is from a collection of many hundreds that belonged to a friend of our family who recently passed away. He bought them off the rack as a child in the 1940s and 50s. They stayed carefully tucked away in the same home since that time. The first time they were handled or moved is when they were put into a tub when his house was cleaned out after his death. This was not done by us but was mostly done carefully and only a few appeared to be damaged in the process. The original owner had no spouse or children and no other living family, so many of his things came to us. Included in this collection are many Dell Four Color and Disney titles, including a nearly complete run of Uncle Scrooge and a very long run of Walt Disney’s Comics and Stories, and many Captain Marvel Adventures and Marvel Family comics from the 1950’s. About Me: I used to be an avid comic collector. I always had a copy of the Overstreet guide and was always on the lookout for comics on my wish list. I even worked in a comic book store for about a year when I was in college. That was a long time ago. I never lost the love of comics, but the space to store a big collection became problematic and I sold my very large collection in the late 1980’s. I just never started collecting again. About This Listing: Publisher, series, issue, and title: SHAZAM! Vol. 2 No. 11 Mar. 1974 “The World’s Mightiest Desert” First impression: Really nice book. A couple of minor flaws. Degree of gloss: High gloss. Condition of cover: A series of tiny scratches on Captain Marvel’s shoulder. A 1” white line right at the bottom of the cover which might be a color lift or something on the book, I can’t seem to tell. Micro edge wear, if any. Corners: Corners aren’t perfect enough for a mint book, but they are very nice. You can see some micro wear with magnification. Spine and staples: Nearly perfect staples. Micro wear around staples. A few small stresses along the spine. A slight bit of a reading bend. No spine roll. Original staples: Yes. Interior staples: Tarnished. Perfectly centered and tight. Paper color and condition: Cream toward light tan and mostly supple. Some foxing. Smell: Not much smell, maybe faint cardboard. Interior condition: I really don’t think this book has been read. If it was, it was very gently handled. If I had to give it a grade: 8.0 Very Fine.
