Description: Offered is this vintage reproduction of the Latin-language medieval book "De Conceptu et Generatione Hominis", written by Jacob Rueff. This is an individually-numbered limited edition, an exact facsimile of the original, first published in 1572. 2,500 copies were made with a half-vellum cover; this is #736. The books were printed in West Germany for the members of the Editions Medicina Rara Ltd. The printing date is not stated, but appears to have been done in the 1970s or 1980s, before the reunification of Germany. There are many black and white illustrations; due to the nature of the book many of these contain nudity. The original heavy cardboard slipcase is included. The book is approx. 7 7/8" x 5 3/4". It is in excellent condition. The brown and cream hard cover has no wear, with just a few light marks. The gold lines and symbols on the front are still shiny. There is no cracking inside either the front or the back cover. The white endpapers are clean. I see no missing or torn pages and all are well-attached to the binding and clean. I see no writing in the book. The slipcase is clean and has almost no wear; there is some light surface wear where a price label was once attached. I have a lot of experience with vintage and antique books but am not an expert so please let me know if my description is missing information and you have additional questions. I will do my best to answer them! Please take a moment to look at some of the other items in my eBay store!
