The glow properties of the original Midnight Flyer not only opened up the ability to play disc golf at night, but more significantly added substantial weight to the disc making it an immediate player favorite. The added weight gave players the ability to throw much farther distances, and for years the Midnight Flyer held the distance record for disc flight. The original Midnight Flyers were sold in sets of 8 discs and are highly prized collectibles to this day. The DGA Squall was selected to be the first in the series, using current flying disc technology as a way to honor the legacy of these legendary discs.
