I had the privilege of meeting Mr. Holder at the Solvang, CA knife show in 2006. I placed my order for one of his 40th Anniversary knife sets and he shipped it to me in January of 2007 to mark his 40 years of making knives. D'Holder loved making a great knife and he was a very generous and gracious guy. Sadly, Mr. Holder passed away in 2022; a great loss to the knifemaking community. This knife and accessories are just as they were shipped to me in 2007. They have never been used, only displayed and admired. The hat has never been worn. This knife has so much detail in its construction. Just imagine the number of hours it took to build a knife of this quality as well as the engraving; done by D's wife Mary Patricia Holder (mph) signed on the hilt and the hat. Awesome condition!
