This Disney statuette features Donald Duck in a sinking boat by the Netherlands company, Demons and Merveilles. It was produced and only available in select European countries. Created with vibrant colors and a pop art style, this piece looks like it stepped off the screen and into your home. The Title of this piece is "Le Naufrage" which means "The Shipwreck." Demons et Merveilles produced this vintage Donald Duck figurine in the year 2002. This pre-loved figurine is about 7 3/4" high and comes with the original box and packaging. I purchased this awesome piece one year on a trip to Paris at one of the large department stores. They had a special section with unique versions of Disney characters. And knowing that this statue wasn't available in the U.S., I snatched it up. Donald looks so funny in this picture. He has the classic "I'm not amused" look on his face as his poor boat keeps sinking into the water. In the back of the boat is a beautiful picnic basket. Was this meant for Daisy? We may never know. This sculpture was displayed for a short period, and then dusted off and packaged up in his box and stored in a closet with other Disney figures. It is in excellent condition and would make a great addition to anyone's Disney or Donald Duck collection. Two sides of the storage box appear to have faded over the years, so instead of the standard yellow/orange color, it looks more like white. This does not affect the statue inside at all.
