With Grinder using a Cut wheel.Then using a Grind wheel Smooth off the sharp edge of the surface that was cut. Position the 2 pieces of your rail to desired length. Then place extension piece connecting them on the outside. You will need, at the very least, 6 inches of overlap. Clamp in place with Vise Grips (locking pliers). Recheck measurement. If measurement is good and the angle irons fit tightly together and are straight, mark holes on your rails with a sharpie, or magic marker.Drill the marked holes in your Rails (16 holes) with 1/4 “ drill bit After the Holes are drilled, Use a 3/8 “ drill bit to drill a conical shape(bowl shape on the inside of your Rail. This provides a Conical or bowl to receive the conical head bolt. Don’t drill all the way through with the ⅜ bit Only enough to make a “dish or bowl” to receive the Conical bolt.Insert and tighten bolts using a phillips screwdriver and a 7/16 “ wrench. You are done.
