Description: Rare original antique engraving print from an 1840s illustrated journal. These two prints depict the running of a hunting dog kennel, with 7 pictures and a long article in between them. It shows the kennel, the day yard, the kennel masters house (and a walk-about with the dogs), a feeding station, the whelping area, the calling the dogs for dinner, and the earth stopper. The article describes these areas/activities. Earth stopping is the filling or clothing of the fox dens the night before the hunt, so the foxes are unable to return after their night hunt. The prints are very large (folio size), measuring approximately 11 x 15 inches (28 x 38 cm). The pictures and text fill most of it. The page is in excellent condition for its age. There is text/photos on the back of the print. See scan for an accurate view of the condition. This print will come with a Certificate of Authenticity. Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
