Description: Duck Decoy Carved Painted Wood Tack Eyes Black White Bird Old Vintage Unsigned Description and Item Information Up for sale is this old duck decoy. Please excuse any glare in the photos. This carved and painted wooden bird has metal tack eyes. There is a plate beneath, as shown. The duck is approximately 14 inches long, 5 1/4 inches wide, and 6 1/8 inches tall. Unpacked, it weighs 1 pound 13.0 ounces. This would be a wonderful addition to a collection of old decoys. Identification The duck is unsigned, and the carver is not known. The exact age of this vintage bird is not known. This piece was acquired in northern California. Condition The duck is in good condition overall, as shown; it has paint wear and flaws, as expected with age. The neck has a crack around it, as shown, with flaking to the paint. There are some other hairline cracks in the wood. There is an oval flaw area to the side of the breast, as shown in Photo 6. There are other indents and flaws to the wood. There is soiling and staining, and there are wear marks. There is green paint beneath in some of the areas where the paint has chipped off.
