Description: This Duophone Record ( in unbreakable form ) number D550 features Miklos Rakosi, violinist. In 1926 Duophone produced a revolutionary "Unbreakable Record". It was made from a core of banded layered paper coated with a thin layer of rubberised plastic. The label on this record was used for records issued in 1929. Michael Thomas's excellent website lists many Duophone records including the D500 series, with numbers up to D547. This record, number D550, was unknown to Michael Thomas and must be classed as very rare. This is a delicate record and we have not risked playing it.
