E ATKINSON carpenter's or owner's name stamp for marking wood planes & tools

Description: You are bidding on one carpenter's or owner's name stamp as pictured.The mark is "E. ATKINSON". It is marked with a small six-sided star and some sort of a logo inside the star, which would be the maker of the stamp. I have seen other six-sided stars on name stamps, but don't recognize this one. Width of all of the letters combined is about 1-1/4".The last picture shows a US quarter in front of the stamp to give you a sense of size, although the quarter is closer to the camera so it appears a bit larger, and the quarter is not part of the listing.Overall length of the stamp is about 3-1/8". These are designed to mark wood planes and wood tools. Condition is good, with some wear to the letters, most obvious on the K and both N's. There is some scaling on the surface which is typical, and the struck end is peened over. Please keep watching, I have quite a few of these to list! The Post Office now has several prices increases during each year, raising a few things but not everything at each increase. And they now raise their rates during the Holidays, which means early October to late January. Their big increases are in January, timed to start at the end of the Holiday rates, and this year is no exception. And it's not just the postage rates, the insurance charges and the delivery signature charges have also gone up. There is now a surcharge for Priority Mail packages over 20" long, and another for Priority Mail packages over 30" long, because those longer packages won't fit in their automatic machines. And the Post Office has discontinued the Regional Flat Rate boxes, which were often less expensive for certain sizes and weights. I try to pick the best shipping option for each listing, based both on what is the least expensive and on what I think is needed to protect the item. If the value is $250 or over, eBay requires your signature at delivery for the buyer and seller protections to be in effect.SALES TAX: Interstate sales tax is now the reality on all the major selling websites including eBay. If I ship to a state where eBay is required to collect sales tax, eBay will charge you the sales tax for your location. There is lots of information available from eBay that explains it in much more detail. The sales tax is completely out of my hands -- I don't have anything to do with deciding whether to charge tax, I don't have anything to do with deciding the tax rate, and I never see any of the funds that are collected, they go directly to eBay.SELLING OUTSIDE OF EBAY: Why would I risk my lengthy good standing with eBay to save you a couple of dollars? Especially when you ask on an email that is sent through the eBay email system? Please don't ask, the answer is no.INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING: I no longer ship Internationally other than Canada. If you are in Canada, ask for what the shipping would cost, but be prepared for it to be $$$$$. AUCTIONS: I won’t end an auction listing early to sell it to you directly.
